Shroud and Heater Assemblies

These highly engineered heating and cooling systems are an innovative concept in product design, offering a very efficient means to heat and cool the barrels of plastic extruders. They provide cooling efficiencies equal to or better than conventional liquid cooled cast-in aluminum band heaters.

The synergy between the specific shroud design, cast-in aluminum finned band heater and properly sized blower will produce an increase in thermal efficiency and throughput, optimizing overall performance, thereby reducing operating cost and improving customer satisfaction.

These shroud designs are made with stainless steel sheet metal, cast aluminum, or a stainless steel/cast aluminum hybrid construction.  They offer various features and options unique to each construction style specifically suited to address the operating requirements of several diverse applications. The versatility in shroud designs can accommodate various types of band heater constructions.

A single air inlet port is standard; double ports are optional. The port air blower mount is designed to accommodate our standard blowers or any other brand. These systems are self-contained and can be supplied turnkey ready-to-go, requiring minimum labor and installation cost, and drastically reducing downtime and maintenance upkeep versus conventional liquid cooling and heating cast-in band heaters.
